Egg-stremely Addicting: Korean Marinated Eggs
간장 계란
This recipe for soft-boiled marinated eggs will have you hooked, and to no surprise because this dish is known as an extremely addictive egg banchan in Korea! Watch these eggs turn a delicious golden brown as they soak in a sweet and savoury soy sauce-based marinade, then have them with a hearty bowl of rice for a taste of true euphoria.
Soak the dried kelp in warm water for 15 minutes to make kelp water for the sauce.

Combine all the sauce ingredients thoroughly and set it aside.

In a deep pot, add 950 ml of water, 1 tsp salt and 1 tbsp vinegar. Add the 12 eggs and boil for 6–7 minutes. Then take the eggs out and put them in iced water to cool. Peel the eggs and set them aside.
4
Place the eggs in a deep glass food container and pour all the sauce over the eggs. Sprinkle chopped red chilli peppers and sesame seeds inside. Cover the surface with cling film and tighten around the edges of the container. Close the lid and refrigerate for at least 6 hours.
5
Place a marinated egg on a bowl of cooked rice, then drizzle over a little of the sauce and about ½ tsp sesame oil. Sprinkle with gim jaban (seasoned roasted seaweed flakes), mix everything together and enjoy!
